Why Virtual TSM?

  • What motivates you to join TSM?
    • TSM provides an exciting opportunity for me to experience the world of tech in other countries, and how they make use of technology to solve geographical challenges and improve the lives of the people there. Having been working in a startup with employees from multiple countries, the experience I got there really drove my interest in gaining more knowledge from people of different cultures and backgrounds. The tech startup culture that I was exposed to also fits well into my desire to pursue a fast paced, technology focused work environment. I was also encouraged to start my own business, which is currently in the planning phase. As such, I believe that TSM will be able to provide me with more insights and knowledge on how to execute a successful business, as well as the possible challenges that these businesses face.
  • Where would you like to visit virtually?
    • Silicon Valley, New York, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Taipei, Seoul

Starting a business

  • What types of business interest you?
    • I am particularly interested in FinTech firms. With the finance industry being such a well-established one, it is fascinating to see how these new firms are coming in to disrupt this industry. Furthermore, innovations such as blockchain and cryptocurrency technology are slowly gaining mass appeal, and even starting to chip at the incumbent's bottom line, and I would love to be a part of this revolution. Companies that interest me include CakeDeFi and Crypto.com.
  • What plan do you have in starting a business?
    • I am currently working with 2 of my friends, one from SCIS and one from LKCSB, to start a SaaS business. We intend to begin development of our product come winter 2021, and seek funding from VCs or angel investors in summer 2022.

This is through the use of a mobile application that allows managers and employees to give consistent feedback on themselves and each other. A performance review can also be generated using an AI that takes in input from the feedbacks submitted in the app
    • OnLoop is a global team as well, with employees from more than 5 countries.
