Why Virtual TSM?
What motivates you to join TSM?
Even before COVID-19 hit, the world has already entered a deeply integrated state between individuals, nations and continents. Being raised in a multi-cultural society in Singapore, I've always desired to learn more about the cultures and experiences of people from all walks of life, especially those from different countries. TSM provides the exact opportunity for me to meet, interact with and learn from the greatest minds overseas. Through these conversations, I seek to emulate these learning outcomes as I pursue my life-long goal as a global citizen and a digital nomad.
Furthermore, TSM gathers like-minded individuals from SMU, which gives me the prized opportunity to build strong ties with beyond the classroom. I believe that every individual is the average of their five closest friends, and I'm hoping to build lasting relationships that could drive a motivating environment.

Starting a business
What types of business interest you?
I'm interested in businesses who empower its users, providing them value while also giving them the opportunity to create value themselves. Strong proponents of this model would be content creation platforms like YouTube and TikTok, to user-led service-providing platforms like AirBnB and Grab. These businesses go beyond simple generating revenue and instead ropes in their product users in a mutual relationship in terms of value generation.
What plans do you have in starting a business?
I am currently devising an initial digital transformation side-hustle with a couple of close friends, but more importantly, seek to attempt creating and running a startup at least once before graduating from SMU. As a life goal, I plan on starting a business that harnesses and provides value on the users' data.

Work
- Designed and implemented Python ETL data pipeline and architecture for a data analytics minimum viable product (MVP) to derive business insights for dental clinics.
- Configured Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for data warehouses and local and virtual machine environments.

I want to be able look back at today, 5 years from now, knowing that I've made the best use of my time, energy and resources to gain new knowledge and meet new people.
