Why Virtual TSM? šŸš€

  • What motivates you to join TSM?

As someone who enjoys travelling and experiencing different cultures, I am thrilled by the opportunities that the virtual TSM presents to learn more about the start-up scene and entrepreneurial spirit in other countries. I am excited to learn about the motivations of the founders and the birth story of these start-ups. Furthermore, I believe that TSM will be an amazing chance for me to meet and work with my fellow schoolmates on a different level, as we embark on the exciting journey of TSM.

  • Where would you like to visit virtually?

Silicon Valley as it is the global center of technological innovation. Israel as it is known as the ā€œstart-up nationā€ with the highest start-ups per capita.

Starting a business šŸ’µšŸ’°šŸ“ˆ

  • What types of business interest you?

Businesses that supports inclusivity and sustainability by harnessing the capabilities of technology to enable communities. Interested in the FinTech industry, I am interested in companies that drives financial inclusion through providing equal accessibility to financial services for the unbanked and underbanked.

  • What plans do you have in starting a business?

As a land scarce nation, Singapore is unable to allocate large land parcels to farming however Singapore still seeks to increase food security, most notably through the ā€œ30 by 30ā€ goal. Therefore, Singapore has to increase efficiency of land use, by producing more food per unit area and producing food at a faster rate. This is where I believe technology comes in to disrupt the farming business, through predictive analytics, farmers are able to optimise farming conditions according to accurate weather prediction to improve crop yield. Furthermore, with Urban Farming a huge initiative now, IoTs and cloud computing will allow urban farmers to monitor crops at multiple locations wherever they are.
