Background Data Methodology
Motivation

Currently, XYZ makes use of a unique ideation process for its content creation. However, we feel that this process can be improved with a data driven approach. By creating an actual documentation of what elements make up a good idea based on their historical data, XYZ will have a more structured ideation system that can be used to supplement their existing processes. This would increase the quality of ideas that are generated, that would translate to better articles and an improved bottom line for XYZ.

Objectives


Since XYZ depends heavily on Facebook as their social media outlet for increasing their content viewership and ad revenue, our team decided to request for and analyze XYZ’s Facebook Insights data to achieve the following broad objectives:

  • Geographic visualization of likes by country + Gender breakdown
    • Key takeaway: Where are my likes originating from, what is the audience profile and which country can be the next destination
  • Analysis: What topics posted on Facebook perform the best?
    • Key takeaway: these are the topics to focus on for the time being
  • Analysis: Organic reach vs Paid reach
    • Key takeaway: topics to “pay more” To see how well XYZ is meeting their KPIs
  • Analysis: Video posts performance
    • Key takeaway: Insights on how to leverage and improve on their best performing post type
