Auctionory
About Auctionory
Founded in 2013, Auctionory is a Korean online marketplace for translation services. It serves as a middle-man to match translators to people wanting translation services. It has 2 offices, one in Seoul and the other, in Silicon Valley.
Business Operations Model
Auctionory provides a one-stop platform for all its clients' translation needs. It initially goes through the client's requirement, and then determines the appropriate channel to conduct its translation services.
It relies on 3 primarily platforms for translations - through translation agencies, translation API services as well as their own Auctionory community.
Translation Agencies
It leverages on the existing expertise of translation companies to provide professional translation services for their clients.
Translation API Services
It makes use of existing APIs available to provide quick translation services.
Auctionory Community
From our research, this is Auctionory's core business. It provides a community for freelance translators to find jobs, and for clients to hire translators without paying hefty amounts to an agency.
Their social media presence are primarily focused on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+. They also run their own translation community platform at LangTask.com.
Clients get connected to translators by first posting the job and stating various requirements. After which, based on a matching algorithm, profiles of freelance translators suitable for the task will be provided to them. Clients can then select from the list of translators available and be linked up to them on their platform. They are then allowed to directly connect to the freelancers by their own accords to determine the next course of action.
