TSM will not only provide me the opportunity to visit Silicon Valley, it will also give me a chance to interact with and learn from people in these successful companies or startups that are currently working on what might potentially be the next big thing. This is really exciting for me and my friends (Justin, Hein, Amelia and Trisha)!

Ever since I entered IS, I knew I wanted to take on the DCS track because of the TSM experience opportunity. The amazing opportunity to visit Silicon Valley has been one of my wildest dreams as a tech enthusiast. The innovative atmosphere and strong startup ecosystem in Silicon Valley has bred and homed many successful tech companies. Having had the opportunity to participate in a mini startup competition by NTU Ideasinc has taught me that innovation never dies and especially so in the current tech generation. I am a strong advocate and lover of the future of Web 3.0, a different universe, the Metaverse. I believe TSM is a rare opportunity that I must cease as it will open my eyes up to and learn from the best of the best in our current tech industry in Silicon Valley. I am extremely excited to hop on this journey with my friends (Shen Jie, Hein, Amelia and Trisha). Why Virtual TSM?

 • What motivates you to join TSM?

It has been 2 years since I embarked on my journey in tech. I have always been fascinated by the endless possibilities of tech and its ability to constantly evolve and shape every aspect of our lives. Silicon Valley is the home to many of the world's largest high-tech companies, it is also a place with a strong startup ecosystem with the most brilliant and innovative minds and the strong support by VCs. I have always wanted to visit Silicon Valley and experience how it is like.

Starting a business

 • What types of business interest you?

Business that can potentially have a huge impact. It can be a business that will change the way we do things by the innovative use of technology(e.g Meta's vision of a metaverse where one can have realistic and life-like interactions with their friends online using AR/VR). It can also be something that brings about great value to the society/world, solving issues that might not be very profitable yet is important, such as climate change or world hunger.

 • What plan do you have in starting a business?

Currently working with Justin Cheu, Shen Jie & Trisha Tan on pivoting our IS216 Web Application Development II project idea (Auxion) - originally an online auction platform made for charitable organisations to organise live bidding sessions in real time, towards a NFT marketplace suited for the Metaverse. What keeps you ticking?

"You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life." -Steve Jobs
