I strongly believe that being a part of TSM will help me to grow my entrepreneurial mindset - to cultivate the ability to look at problems through different lenses and tackle issues from different angles. I have always wanted to visit well-established tech companies such as those in FAANG, or rather MANGA (Since Meta, Apple, Netflix, Google, Amazon..a little cold joke here sorry). During my freshman year, I was exposed to a young Thailand startup that I interned at through SMU's Global Innovation Immersion (GII) Programme. Although it was a remote internship, I was fortunate enough to learn many valuable lessons from the founder himself as he was my direct supervisor for the internship. One main takeaway from my internship is the importance of communicating with clarity, be it with end-users or stakeholders in the business. The internship also opened up my eyes to the world of startups and left me wanting more. Given the opportunity, I am certain that this study mission will be an unforgettable experience and the highlight of my university life here at SMU.

Why Virtual TSM?

  • What motivates you to join TSM?

I strongly believe that being a part of TSM will help me to grow my entrepreneurial mindset - to cultivate the ability to look at problems through different lenses and tackle issues from different angles. I have always wanted to visit well-established tech companies such as those in FAANG, or rather MANGA (Since Meta, Apple, Netflix, Google, Amazon..a little cold joke here sorry). As a bright eyed freshman, I was given the privilege to have interned at a fresh startup in Thailand through SMU’s Global Innovation Immersion (GII) Programme. Despite it being a remote internship, the lessons I have learnt through that opportunity did not fall short in any way. In fact, my biggest takeaway from that internship was learning how to communicate with clarity as I understood just how important it is to ensure that people understand the message you are trying to convey. The GII internship was my first leap at experiencing what SMU has to offer and it left me wanting for more. Given this opportunity, I am certain that this study mission will be an unforgettable experience and the highlight of my university life here at SMU.

  • Where would you like to visit virtually?

Silicon Valley, New York and Beijing are the top 3 places I would love to visit. These 3 places have very strong startup ecosystems and it would be such a rewarding experience to interact and learn from successful startups there.
