Why TSM?

What motivates you to join TSM?

When I was 11, I started my own e-commerce venture that brought in profits in the thousands. That venture got shut down by a cyber attack, but my entrepreneurial spirit stayed on.

Now that I'm 21, I'm still constantly looking for new opportunities and areas of growth, be it to start new initiatives or to grow existing ones. My proudest achievement would be in starting Being Singapore, an initiative that brings fitness accessible to all, regardless of abilities or disabilities.

As a student in tech, I truly believe that, when used appropriately, tech can shake up any industry, bringing impact in incredible ways. As a consumer electronics hobbyist, I also get plenty excited learning about the latest innovations and hope that I will be able to ignite that excitement first-hand by working with a start-up under TSM.

Combining my interest in technology, business and the social space, I wish to join TSM to challenge myself and learn the ways of entrepreneurship from startups and the people behind it. I also wish to be inspired from the fellow budding entrepreneurs in class, sharing ideas and sharpening thoughts together.

Where do you NOT want to travel for TSM?

I honestly cannot think of anywhere that I would not like to travel for TSM. For more developed countries (thinking Americas, East Asia etc), there is much to learn from the robust startup scene. For less developed countries, there will exist plenty of opportunities for potential entry. I truly believe that there is something to be learnt from every country. If I had to choose, I would choose to not travel to countries that primarily speak a different language (i.e. not English or Chinese), since I would think of communication to be important in facilitating learning
