Open to later stage investment for more mature businesses (Series B investment)

Activities

Business model: $100 million capital fund, office rent and overheads (2% per year as a management fee)

  • From own pockets and investors (eg. insurance companies, companies with alot of assets and liquidity, in S classes to gain return, especially in low interest rates periods)
    • Expected return $300 million, to have a good capital venture fund
    • Invest in about 20 startups (50% will not make it)
    • 10 will survive, maybe 12. Wise to pull the plug earlier rather than later (30% per company)
    • $1 billion divided by 10, $100 million per company
    • Mainly in German speaking companies and not in life science,Pharma and biotech
    • Does not believe in advertising themselves as they believe these companies should know who they are turning to
