About Naymit

Naymit lets you publish and share complete information about places. A user marks any location on the map and provides additional place info (description, driving tips, photos) and give it a unique name (e.g. PicnicTom). Then, the user can share the location by telling the unique name or sending a link. Using the name/link, anyone can get all info needed to find the place. The mobile app also helps with navigation.

Naymit is available as a web app (this website) and as a mobile app for Android. For the mobile app, it also includes Google Maps to help navigate to the location

Naymit is perfect for publishing places that are difficult to find or don't have an address: outdoor meeting point, camping site, holiday house, picnic place, hiking spot, food stall.

Market Analysis

The current market for maps and tagging is highly contested. The current giant for mapping services are Google, Apple, Garmin and Nokia; and for tagging of location, there is foursquare and smaller firms like pin in the map and zeemaps guys. Thus, to successfully commercialise Naymit, 3 types of market conditions must exist:

  1. Inefficient mapping system
  2. Adequate mobile broadband support
  3. Social media adoption - Culture
