Business Model

  • Direct entry through cooperation: Currently FlixBus is entering the market by cooperating with the large and medium bus operators in Germany.
  • Partnership: The partners will have to sign an exclusive contract with FlixBus, meaning that they will not be able to sub-contract for any other bus companies. FlixBus will be in charge of all network planning, marketing as well an innovative platform for online ticketing.
  • Fuses ownership: FlixBus shares the ownership with other external vendors.
  • Franchising: All the bus under management of partners of FlixBus will operate under the brand "FlixBUS". This will help achieve economies of scope for sale, marketing and technical division as well as infrastructure like depots and service areas.

  • Unique selling points
  • Incorporating all partners under a global name "FlixBus" to raise brand awareness
