Why TSM?

What motivates you to join TSM?
The TSM programme is one of the highlights in the SCIS undergraduate programme and one of the reasons why I joined SMU. Although there is a strong tech scene here in Singapore, many of the most innovative companies and exciting start ups are found elsewhere in the world, and of course many of them are at Silicon Valley. I hope to be able to visit these companies to understand how it's like to work in these companies as well as what drives the strong entrepreneurial culture there. These best practices can then be applied back in Singapore and will hopefully influence me positively in the long term.

Where would you like to visit?
Silicon Valley: Google, Apple, NVIDIA, OpenAI

Starting a business

What types of business interest you?
I am interested in AI businesses that do AI research or want to use AI to solve / alleviate a particular challenge that we are currently facing. One area that I am particularly passionate about is making practices more sustainable. One such company would be Carousell, which enables a circular economy to reduce waste.

What plans do you have in starting a business?
I am still currently exploring potential opportunities and looking out for innovative ideas that I believe can make a positive difference and solve pressing challenges.
