Why Virtual TSM?
- What motivates you to join TSM?
I've heard great things about TSM from friends and seniors who've been part of the program. They've had fantastic experiences making new friends, learning from industry experts, and building important connections. I'm excited to join!
Another reason I want to be part of this is because Silicon Valley is where all the cool startups are happening. Currently, I'm working on my own startup, and I'm eager to gain practical insights that can help me build and grow it. The best thing is this program isn't just about learning theories; it's about giving us a deep understanding of what makes startups successful. It inspires us to think about becoming entrepreneurs ourselves and equips us with the knowledge to start tech companies. I hope to learn valuable skills that I can apply to my current startup and make it thrive.
Additionally, I'm excited about the opportunity to meet other like-minded SMU students and form valuable connections with them. Collaboration and networking with fellow students who share my entrepreneurial spirit will undoubtedly be a significant part of this enriching experience.
- Where would you like to visit?
I'd love to visit some of the big giants like Google and Meta, but I'm equally keen on exploring the newer players in Silicon Valley, such as Wonolo, which closely aligns with my startup. If the opportunity arises, I hope to exchange insights with their founder. Additionally, I'm eager to check out Y-Combinator (Best startup accelerator!), where I can connect with more like-minded individuals and gain valuable knowledge.
Starting a business
- What types of business interest you?
I'm into businesses that make life better for people. Whether it's cool products or useful services, I'm all about making everyday life more awesome.
I also believe tech is the way to go in today's digital world. Businesses using smart tech not only stay in the game but also make things more efficient and exciting. I'm interested in companies that mix things up by using tech to create stuff that's both helpful and up-to-date.
I'm excited about ideas that bring together making life better and using the latest tech to do it. It's about cool stuff that makes a real difference while staying ahead in the tech game.
- What plans do you have in starting a business?
I'm into two cool projects.
Hyremi, where we're shaking things up in the gig economy. Instead of gig workers waiting forever to get paid, our platform lets them grab their earnings right away. Super convenient! We're also fortunate to be part of SMU BIG Incubation Program (August 2023 Cohort).
Then, there's Mailbean. It's a project with my friend, and we're building a library of screenshots of real emails. Sounds simple, but it's a goldmine for marketers. It's like having a cheat sheet of successful marketing campaigns.
These projects are all about making life easier for gig workers and giving marketers a secret weapon. I'm excited to see where these journeys take me!
