Why Virtual TSM?
- What motivates you to join TSM?
The land of unicorns! While Silicon Valley is commonly referred to as the birthplace of the technological civilisation, it has also witnessed countless stories of success and failure. I am drawn to this vibrant, bustling metropolis where I can experience the ambition, capability and hubris that drives these fascinating stories. There is a saying from the Three Kingdoms: 某事在人,成事在天. In English, it means fate will ultimately determine success or failure. Silicon Valley is a place where countless founders work everyday to defy fate, and I have much to learn from them.
- Where would you like to visit?
Framework Laptops, AMD, OpenAI, Silicon Valley Bank (rip), Intel, Nvidia, Alphabet! As for specific technologies, I would definitely love to demo the Meta Quest Pro and the Apple Vision Pro. These technologies are the cutting edge and I hope to have a chance to experiment how they might replace our smartphones one day!
Starting a business
- What types of business interest you?
Consumer electronics that have the potential to upend the way we live. One example of this would be the new Mixed Reality headsets from Apple and Meta. These computing devices can introduce new forms of communications and facilitate an exchange of ideas to a greater degree than even smartphones and social media.
- What plans do you have in starting a business?
Currently I do not have any concrete plans to start a business, but I am heavily inspired by startups that focus on sustainability while creating novel consumer electronics products. One example of this is Framework Laptops, which produced modular and user-upgradeable laptops. I think modularity and consumer choice are respectable ideals, and I would like to start a business that put these two values at the forefront of its business model.
