Why Virtual TSM?
- What motivates you to join TSM?
As the birthplace of countless disruptive technologies, the chance to visit the companies that have changed the very way we live our lives today is one that I simply could not pass up. I wish to broaden my horizons not only in what the most cutting edge technologies are, but also in what makes a business successful in its everyday operations. Not only that, I wish to learn about the companies that did not make it out of the Valley. I believe that a grand idea only remains an idea, unless it can be executed.
In addition, I wish to make new friends from like-minded SMU students and those from the local universities we visit. The opportunity to gain insight from those that are different from me is something that I always look out for. I always appreciate a fresh perspective and I look forward to applying it in my daily life.

Starting a business
- What types of business interest you?
I am interested in businesses that leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to solve everyday problems. With the recent leaps in computing capabilities, the potential to use AI and ML to improve daily life appears to be limitless. Countries and citiesare already leveraging AI-powered platforms to solve problems like traffic congestion, flood monitoring and energy management. AI has also been used to improve medical diagnosis and decision making. What's next????
- What plans do you have in starting a business?
For now, I have not solidified any plans to start a business. My industry interests are the application of AI in smart cities, as well as using it for social good. I hope to be able to use AI and technology to increase the quality of life of the people around me, instead of allowing technological advancements to widen inequality.
