Why Virtual TSM?

  • What motivates you to join TSM?

Visiting Silicon Valley on a school overseas trip would be an incredible opportunity for several reasons. Firstly, Silicon Valley is the epicenter of innovation and technology, home to some of the world's most influential tech companies. Being able to witness firsthand the birthplace of groundbreaking technologies and startups would not only be inspiring but also educational.

Moreover, Silicon Valley offers a unique ecosystem where entrepreneurship thrives. Interacting with successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and startup founders can provide invaluable insights into the world of business and innovation. It's a chance to learn about the mindset and skills required to turn innovative ideas into reality.

Additionally, Silicon Valley's diverse and inclusive environment fosters creativity and collaboration, making it an ideal place for networking and expanding one's horizons. Meeting individuals from various backgrounds and cultures can broaden our perspectives and encourage us to think globally.

Lastly, the experience of visiting Silicon Valley would not only be educational but also personally fulfilling. It's a chance to explore a dynamic and vibrant region, immerse ourselves in a culture of continuous learning and innovation, and potentially spark a passion for technology, entrepreneurship, or innovation that could shape our future academic and career pursuits.

  • Where would you like to visit?

Regarding the FAANG companies, I'm particularly enthusiastic about visiting Google. My prior experience touring their Singapore office during a secondary school excursion left a deep impression on me, especially their interesting work culture. I'm eager to explore the vibrant world of startup tech companies that thrive in Silicon Valley as well!

Additionally, I love to travel so I'm hoping we will have the chance to explore the numerous tourist attractions in San Francisco, US. My previous visit to the United States was limited, so I'm excited to discover more.

Starting a business

  • What types of business interest you?

I am deeply interested in Artificial Intelligence, especially in the context of its potential impact on our professional landscape. The ongoing discourse about AI potentially replacing human jobs has piqued my interest and I am keen to explore the transformative power of AI in generating innovative business opportunities.

  • What plans do you have for starting a business?

While I do not currently own any businesses, I am passionate about launching a tech venture in the future. I embrace new experiences and skills with an open mind, making entrepreneurship an appealing path for me. I believe in diversifying income streams, pursuing side hustles and picking up new skills, particularly in the face of the unpredictability of Covid.
