Why TSM?
- What motivates you to join TSM?
I am extremely excited to join the TSM program and visit Tokyo. Japan has always been a dream destination for me, and I have yet to visit the country. Furthermore, I have a strong interest in Japanese culture and have been considering the possibility of working in Japan in the future.
As an avid fan of video games, I am particularly drawn to the opportunity to visit some of the most influential companies in the video gaming industry, including Nintendo and Bandai Namco. I believe that this experience will provide me with a unique insight into the inner workings of the industry, and allow me to gain a deeper understanding of the development and production processes behind some of my favorite games.
Moreover, I have heard from my peers that the TSM program is an excellent opportunity to learn about the cultural and professional aspects of working in Japan. I am excited to take advantage of this chance to expand my knowledge and network with industry professionals.
Overall, I believe that the TSM program offers an unparalleled opportunity to deepen my understanding of Japanese culture, gain valuable insights into the video gaming industry, and develop the skills necessary to succeed in a global professional environment.

Starting a Business
* What types of business interest you?
Honestly, ANY type of business interests me. For me, it's about leaving a lasting impact on society and mankind's progress in technology. However, I am extremely focused on starting a platform-type business (e.g. Grab).
- What plans do you have in starting a business?
My ultimate goal is to launch a tech startup that will make a positive impact on society. While I have yet to settle on a specific idea, I have been exploring different possibilities. One example is a drone food delivery service that could potentially revolutionize the food delivery industry.
To prepare myself for entrepreneurship, I have taken several steps to gain practical experience and knowledge in business and technology. For instance, I have run a wedding photography business, which has allowed me to develop valuable skills in business administration, marketing, customer management, and more. Additionally, I have completed a Diploma in Business at Temasek Polytechnic, which provided me with insights into the considerations that organizations face as they scale up from a startup.
More recently, I recognized the need to understand the technical aspects of launching a tech startup. As a result, I decided to pursue a course in information systems at SMU. Through this program, I have gained a deeper understanding of frontend and backend development, networking, cybersecurity, and other essential topics.
Overall, my experiences have given me a solid foundation to launch a successful tech startup. I am excited to continue exploring different ideas and leveraging the knowledge and skills I have gained to make a positive impact on society.
