Why Virtual TSM?

  • What motivates you to join TSM?

As innovation is trial and error where out-of-the-box thinking is encouraged, Silicon Valley's level-headed approach to failure, to continuously improve and iterate with a minimum viable product model is a definite learning point for me. It reinforces and embraces the idea to not stop at the first version just because it works; keep iterating and improving on an idea. Additionally, I want to learn more about the entrepreneurial landscape, observe how entrepreneurs transform an idea into a business, and, ideally, participate in it myself. And TSM provides such an opportunity to do just that: to explore my entrepreneurial side.

  • Where would you like to visit?

Silicon Valley: Google, Microsoft, Computer History Museum

Starting a business

  • What types of business interest you?

Businesses that offer their customers the ability to create value for themselves by empowering and leveraging them through technology are of interest to me. Some examples that we see in our everyday lives includeYoutube, Tiktok and Grab that focus on creating value for both themselves and their customers, going beyond the profit driven motive As a consequence of this, more and more people have grown businesses and have taken on content creation as their full-time jobs, a phenomenon which would not cease to exist without businesses such as these.

  • What plan do you have in starting a business?

A common thing between my major and businesses are that they are both centred around technology. While the idea of starting a business around technology would be the ideal route, the mechanics, managerial, and technical knowledge of starting a business remains to be a grey area for me. Through TSM and its opportunities, I hope to acquire skill sets that will allow me to walk down the ideal path of opening my own business.
