Why Virtual TSM?

  • What motivates you to join TSM?

My close friends told me about the TSM programme and I felt that it resonated very much with my personal vision of embracing and celebrating innovation. Inching into my third year of working with and for startups in Singapore and across the world, I have seen many business ideas succeed, as much as I see them fail. I believe this programme is an exciting opportunity for me to further broaden my exposure to the vast ideas in and outside of Singapore, and I hope that I can add as much value to the programme as it does to my academic experience in SMU.

  • Where would you like to visit?

Seoul Startup Hub, Google Seoul Campus, Samsung Seoul Headquarters, Gaepo Digital Innovation Park, and the smartest city in the world, Songdo!

Starting a business

  • What types of business interest you?

Businesses that achieve scale at an unbelievable pace, e.g. ByteDance, Netflix, Tesla, etc. have always blown me away with the flawless execution of their business ideas, leveraging on technology and viral psychology. However, much recently, the narrative has shifted strongly towards a Web 3.0, metaverse-esque reality - we now see a future of decentralized operations through Smart Contracts, Decentralized Autonomous Organisations (DAOs) and the use of cryptocurrencies as a medium of exchange. We see the richest and the brightest shifting away from traditional companies and moving towards blockchain companies, so these are the businesses that excite me the most at the moment.

  • What plans do you have in starting a business?

I am currently a software engineer for SolanaFM, a startup created by a group of my close friends in hopes to become the best data provider on the Solana blockchain. We have recently raised seed funding from fellow blockchain companies CoinHako and Etherscan, and we are working hard towards further scaling and funding.
