Why Virtual TSM?
- What motivates you to join TSM?
I believe that having the skills to be a Technopreneur is extremely important in the digital era. The relevance and importance of such skills motivates me to join TSM to explore new opportunities and pick up new skills. I believe that TSM will allow me to improve my technical skillset, expand my business knowledge and gain knowledge of the startup scene. Additionally, I have heard from previous participants that TSM is an excellent opportunity for exposure and a great learning experience. TSM will be a value-added experience in my academic life at SMU, and would no doubt be a beneficial, eye-opening step in my journey.

Starting a business
- What types of business interest you?
I enjoy analytics and the AI/ML field. I believe that analytics has a strong potential in value-adding our everyday lives, we just need to know where we can apply it! :D
OpenAI is a good inspiration. Their success in using AI to capture the unpredictability in the real world, as in the case of OpenAI Five, was seen as a groundbreaking feat. In fact, human players learnt from the strange AI behaviour and implemented it in their play, resulting in new strategies. I believe that further development of such technology can be beneficial to the world, as AI has the capability to identify what we may take many years to do, in a shorter period of time.
- What plans do you have in starting a business?
An idea is to start an analytics business that does social media analytics in relation to cryptocurrency prices for 191 Labs. My team did this as a project in IS434, and we believe it is possible to further enhance our work to include more cryptocurrencies and provide more detailed analysis. I believe that we can also apply some sort of learning algorithm to predict and suggest potential investment opportunities through our analysis data.
Another idea could be an expansion of the current technology in fitness trends. Currently, many fitness brands such as F45 and BodyFit Training make use of simple technology such as screens to guide members through their workouts. I have had the opportunity to work with a company that does gamified fitness, using sensors to enhance the workout experience. Perhaps such technology can be expanded to a larger scale which can potentially change the fitness industry.
