Why Virtual TSM?

  • What motivates you to join TSM?

It has always been a dream of mine to start my own business, and I feel that this TSM will be able to provide me with valuable experience, both from the partners and my peers. I am also hoping to meet like-minded people who share the same dream as myself. Furthermore, I believe that learning takes place anywhere, not just in the classroom. After 3 years of classes in school, TSM will definitely be a refreshing and enriching experience.

  • Where would you like to visit?

Seoul, Silicon Valley, Stockholm

Starting a business

  • What types of business interest you?

In this era, businesses constantly push tech solutions to customers, often disregarding their actual needs and focusing on maximising profit. I feel that businesses which stray away from this and manage to bring value to the community, or the environment are the most interesting. They have found a genuine need for their product or service, that will enrich their customers’ lives. I am particularly interested in businesses that focus on the environmental aspect. To clarify, I am not referring to the businesses who emphasise being green or being environmentally friendly. What I mean is specifically tech businesses who have a focus on the environment and sustainability. One example that I recently was very fascinated by was using IoT sensors to monitor forests and crops, and then pairing it with machine learning to help recognise problems, making the farmers’ lives much easier. I believe that there are so many more applications of technology for the environment, just that they have not been tried and tested because there are greater profits in other sectors (which is a shame).

  • What plans do you have in starting a business?

None for now, as I believe that the idea is the most important part of starting a business, no point forcing without a good idea. That being said, I do keep a journal of ideas and problems that I discover throughout my life, hoping that one day the inspiration will kick in. Feel free to talk to me about any ideas!
