Why Virtual TSM?

  • What motivates you to join TSM?

I’ve always been inspired by many relatives around me, including my parents, who have taken their leaps of faith to start businesses in fields they are passionate in, nurturing the businesses as the years go by, to keep the businesses relevant in the increasingly technologically-advanced world. Having observed how hard it is to sustain and grow a business from a young age, I have developed a keen understanding of the grit required for starting and maintaining a business. What I find most appealing in this course is the opportunity to visit many businesses in Korea, the country that rapidly transformed into a developed nation after the Korean War, coined as the ‘Miracle on the Han River’ period. This would definitely be a trip to remember, with much to learn, both from the course itself and from going through the course with like-minded peers.

  • Where would you like to visit?

Shanghai, San Francisco, New York, Vancouver, Tokyo, Seoul

Starting a business

  • What types of business interest you?

I’ve found an interest in the healthtech sphere. Since healthcare demand has been increasing, especially in Singapore with the increasing ageing population, technology has to be embraced, to make healthcare more efficient and accurate. I also think that the impact of doing healthtech-related work would produce very tangible impacts on the community in general.

  • What plans do you have in starting a business?

Should I start a business, it would most probably be in the healthtech space. However, I still lack a lot of knowledge and experience required for this domain specifically. This is also where I think I can gain a lot from the course, to learn more about the in and outs of building a startup.
