Why Virtual TSM?

  • What motivates you to join TSM?.

To me, TSM is an extraordinary learning opportunity very different from the usual modules I take in school. I believe that TSM will push me out of my comfort zone, where I am able to further explore my entrepreneurial skills. In addition, I am excited to have exposure to the unique culture and dynamics of different countries. Last but not the least, I am very keen to connect and network with like-minded and aspiring entrepreneurs, with the hopes of creating new friendships and finding potential business partners!

  • Where would you like to visit virtually?

I hope to visit Silicon Valley, and the up and coming global cities, such as Santiago, Shenzhen, Cebu and Dubai. I would also like to visit other countries, such as South Africa, Cambodia and India, where their cultures and business prospects interests me greatly.

Starting a business

  • What types of business interest you?

Social Enterprises! It is intriguing and heartwarming to witness upcoming social enterprises leveraging on technology, in order to include individuals who might be left behind in society. Looking at the FinTech Industry, there are companies such as M-PSEA, that is bringing financial inclusivity to unbanked and underbanked individuals.

Currently, I am interested in ‘ethics-tech’ start-ups. My interests was stirred after watching the Netflix documentaries, The Social Dilemma and The Great Hack. I believe that there is a need for more ethical review in this technology industry with such crucial start-ups. I really can’t wait to see what the start-ups have in store for this industry!

  • What plan do you have in starting a business?

In this current climate, I noticed a need to bring the digital divide closer, especially for elderlies and our foreign friends in Singapore. Hence, I am very interested in starting a social enterprise which makes technology and digital literacy more accessible. I believe that this is a step to be taken, for Singapore to achieve a truly digital nation.

Additionally, I hope to create technology can also better educate our fellow foreign workers in Singapore with necessary knowledge, such that they will be able to make more informed decisions.
