Why TSM?

  • What motivates you to join TSM?

I have always been passionate about technology and hope to one day start a business focused on technology. This is a valuable opportunity for me to learn the thought process of entrepreneurs and how they utilised technologies in their start-ups to enable them to grow. I will also be able to connect with like-minded individuals throughout the course.

  • Where do you NOT want to travel for TSM?

I am open to travelling to any countries as I feel that it is important to experience and gain a deeper appreciation of each countries’ unique cultures.

Starting a business

  • What types of business interest you?

I am interested in businesses that uses technology to bring about a positive change in society, such as protecting the environment and helping the less fortunate.

  • What plan do you have in starting a business?

I hope to start accumulating experiences by taking up leadership roles in tech companies. This is important as it helps me to learn the best practices and from others’ mistakes. From here, I also hope to find like-minded individuals who have similar vision as me and can work together to create a successful technology company.

Past Experiences (optional)

  • List your startup experiences

I am currently working at a tech start-up (Gigworks) as a front-end web developer. I help to improve their website and design it to be mobile-friendly using Angular. I have learnt a lot from this start-up company so far, as I am exposed to many different aspects due to the nature of start-ups. I have also previously worked as a research assistant in SMU, where I helped a professor to perform code analysis and study software bugs. This job has enabled me to apply my technology skillset in a real-world context.

What keeps you ticking?

I believe that the most important is to always believe in myself and be open to trying out new experiences, as it might just be a life-changing opportunity.
