Why Travel Bubble TSM?
- What motivates you to join TSM?
- Recently, I have been exploring opportunities which allow me to learn more about entrepreneurship and how the rapid development of technology is able to help in solving various real-world problems faced by the society. Therefore, I believe that by joining Technopreneurship Study Mission (TSM) or Overseas Project Experience (IS Technopreneurship), I will have the opportunity to gain experiences in becoming an entrepreneur who would start a business with the use of advanced technology to solve societal issues. In addition, TSM or Overseas Project Experience (IS Technopreneurship) would also allow me to gain insights about the overseas markets in various countries and learn more about the technological-based businesses which have been developed to tackle societal issues in other countries.

- I would like to travel to any cities or countries because I love travelling and I always keep myself open-minded to learn and explore various knowledge and culture in different countries.
Starting a business
- What types of business interest you?
- Businesses which leverage on the power of technology (such as the usage of blockchain to develop digital health passport) to solve real-world problems, especially in the travel and hospitality sector and social service sector.
- What plan do you have in starting a business?
- I would like to develop a technological platform which allows tourists/travellers to look for suitable accommodations when they visit the countryside or rural areas of a country. This business idea would help in eliminating the misconceptions or stereotypes of travelling to the countryside or rural areas of a country such as lack of fun activities and under-developed tourist attractions. Also, this business idea aims to cultivate the love towards the nature among tourists/travellers and provide opportunities to tourists/travellers to immerse in local culture as well. The platform will include features such as:
- Selection of accommodations in rural areas which are available for tourists/travellers to stay
- Recommendations of tourist destinations and cultural activities according to tourists'/travellers’ interests, proximity and COVID-19 information
- Chat functions which allow tourists/travellers to communicate with owners of accommodations
- Besides the features stated above, I would also like to include potential social causes in my business idea such as:
- Promote the sale of local products and environmental-friendly products via the technological platform
- Recommendations of social activities such as community service activities and agricultural activities via the technological platform
Past Experiences (optional)
I have worked as a back-end development intern in a start-up, which is known as Shopform, that focuses on providing a social commerce platform to facilitate the interaction between buyers and merchants in carrying out purchases and sales of fashionable clothes via social media. The responsibilities of my role as an intern include:
- Developing reusable application programming interfaces (APIs) for recommendation of products as well as filtering and sorting of list of products
- Creating a function which allows the platform to interact with a third-party application to obtain an access token and store it in a database
- Adding validation features to APIs which help to validate user inputs and return response status codes for various input errors accordingly
Through this internship, I had the opportunity to experience the start-up culture as well as to learn and develop the attitude required to become an entrepreneur who would like to start a business with technology as its main product.
What keeps you ticking?
My goals and my objectives of having such goals. By reviewing and reminding myself about my goals and their objectives, I am able to keep myself motivated and build up my courage to pursue and achieve my goals in life.
Always remember to do what I love and challenge myself to try new things because life is not going to wait for me.
