Why TSM?

  • I would like to build on my interest in the start-up ecosystem. I have recently gain an interest in the world of start-up companies due to the various controversies that revolve around them, a famous example being Theranos which was one of the biggest scandals in Silicon Valley in recent times. On top of false promises, the work culture is also interesting given the exceedingly high pressure placed on the company by investors who seek exponential returns on their investment. I hope that by taking part in TSM I dive deep into understanding the start-up ecosystem and engage in discussions with my fellow peers.
  • Where do you NOT want to travel for TSM? – N.A

Starting a business

  • What types of business interest you?

I am interested in businesses that focus heavily on engineering and technology. Example Tesla, SpaceX and start-ups based in SV. I like to follow up on these types of businesses because of the amount of disruption that they bring to the world, bringing ideas that seem like science fiction into reality. I look forward to the day of fully autonomous vehicles, travelling to mars and artificial intelligence that will allow people to upskill themselves and live better lives.

  • What plan do you have in starting a business?

I plan to start an educational Youtube channel in the future.

Past Experiences (optional)

  • I took part in an internship at Bambu B2B Robo Advisor during a period when there were talks about potential multi-million-dollar investments from well-established brands. Due to the non-disclosure agreement, I am unable to reveal the name however I can elaborate about my sentiments during this time. During the start of 2021, spirits were high, and people were optimistic about the future of the company as they were in talks about the potential acquisition of some of the products of the company that were in development. Furthermore, the company had quite a flat hierarchical structure and hot desking and fit the stereotypical perception of tech start-ups.

What keeps you ticking?

  • Constantly learning new things. I have a passion for sports and to date have tried more than a dozen different activities. I try to apply this to other aspects of life, gaining exposure into a little of everything.
