Why Virtual TSM?
What motivates you to join TSM?
As someone who wants to start her own business, I believe that this TSM will give me greater insights on how different companies operate and the kinds of strategic direction they have for their company. In addition, as this is an IS course, I hope to better understand how companies are using technology to enhance their businesses, could be in terms of operational efficiency or customer experiences.
Was also part of IS405 to New York in AY19/20 Semester 2 and it was a shame the class could not visit New York! I was really excited to get to visit the various company offices, like Revolut and Google, and gain better insights on their company operations. I hope this time around, even though the class will not get to travel there physically, there will be concrete plans on setting up virtual visits which will definitely still be beneficial.
This will also be my last semester in SMU and I believe this course will definitely be one to remember.
Where would you like to visit virtually?
I would like to be able to interact with both MNCs and SMEs. This would give me different perspectives on how companies of different sizes and strategic standing operate. Some of the places I would like to visit virtually (in Asia) include:

- Samsung
- 3CE
- Charles & Keith
- NARS/Shiseido
- Sulwhasoo
Starting a business
What types of business interest you?
I have a very keen interest in the fashion and beauty industry.
For the fashion side, previously I have taken a NAFA course that was on fashion design and it was interesting to understand how clothes are designed and reiterated first on paper before being made physically.
For the beauty side, I have created a makeup Instagram account (@fxcecanvas) during the circuit breaker period due to my growing interest in makeup artistry. During a span of a few months, I have garnered over 300 followers and is still growing. I have also taken interest into many makeup brands, such as Colourpop Cosmetics (USA) and Perfect Diary (China).
What plan do you have in starting a business?
As of now, I currently do not have any concrete plans. However, I hope my Instagram account grows further and becomes a platform where I can advocate for other beauty brands.

- Pioneer batch of Re-X, which is the first retail-based CCA in SMU; Re-X is about reviving the Retail Experience through transforming perceptions, embracing New Retail and bringing the amazing Retail Experience to SMU
- Leading the Training & Development division in grooming Re-X consultants who will be equipped with relevant skills to handle business problems from real clients
- In the process of establishing a training regime for incoming freshmen who will be trained as Re-X consultants
- Sourcing for guest speakers from the retail industry to lead the various Retail Consulting Modules (RCM) at Re-X

- Completed a market entry strategy project for an SME based in Singapore
- Project aimed to recommend three favorable countries in the ASEAN region for the SME to enter
- Led the student group as project leader, who constantly liaises with the Project Manager, Project Advisor and SME throughout the entire duration of the project
