Why Virtual TSM?

  • What motivates you to join TSM? I believe that the Virtual TSM is a great opportunity to learn about how Tech Startups are innovating in times of the COVID Pandemic, and how they are turning crisis into opportunities at this historical turning point via technology.
  • Where would you like to visit virtually? I'm keen to travel virtually to the major tech hubs like Boulder CO, San Francisco, New York & Beijing. However I'm also interested in places closer to home that are budding startup grounds like Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Starting a business

  • What types of business interest you?

I'm interested in Education Tech Startups, and how Artificial Intelligence can help solve problems that stand in the way of people in becoming better learners. Quizlet, Kahoot and Tenopy are some of the ed-tech startups I followed closely.

  • What plan do you have in starting a business? (list existing business)

I have previously taken a gap year (2018-2019) to work on an Edu-tech startup with a partner, where I helped develop a web-based marketplace that enables tutors to conduct lessons via live streaming. I have since left the startup to resume studies at SMU. I plan to pick up a broader array of skills in product and business, as well as deepen my technical skills before starting on my next venture.

Past Experiences (optional)

  • Product and Engineering Intern at The Grand, San Francisco USA (GII)
  • UResearch Intern under Prof Kyong at SMU, Singapore
  • Technical Project Lead at Cudy, Singapore (Self employed)

CCAs:

  • Cisco Student IT Ambassador, Republic Polytechnic
  • Assets Director, Exco SMU Stereometa

What keeps you ticking?

  • Failure cannot be bought by money. True experiences lies beyond your comfort zone.
