Why Virtual TSM?
- What motivates you to join TSM?
- I want to be exposed to the entrepreneurship scene to obtain learnings which could potentially fuel my current wellness venture, Calibrate
- I also want to learn about past success and failures through interactions with other companies
- Where would you like to visit virtually?
Silicon Valley - home to technological innovation for major companies such as Apple, Facebook and Alphabet. I was inspired by the founder of Homage, Gillian Tee, where she shared her experiences at Silicon Valley for a few years before starting her venture in Singapore.
Additionally, I am also interested to be exposed to China’s version of Silicon Valley - Shenzhen to explore large tech giants such as Tencent.
Starting a business
- What types of business interest you?
Marketplace businesses which connects buyers and sellers interests me. Additionally, usage of technology such as AI or big data is rather interesting to me.
- What plan do you have in starting a business?
Currently, I am working on a startup called Calibrate - An online wellness platform for users to book and find practitioners such as Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Sports Massage etc. Practitioners are largely focused on services revolving around pain management, but we are looking to expand to products and wellness courses as well. Calibrate was launched this year in May/June and we are in the midst of applying for grants for future developments. We are also recently part of SMU IIE’s BIG Incubation Programme. Therefore, various forms of entrepreneurship exposure such as the TSM will definitely be useful in my entrepreneurship journey.
