Since its initial founding in 1998, Tencent ehas grown into one of the world's most valuable technology conglomerates. As one of the largest international social media and entertainment company, with services in social network (QQ/Weixin), entertainment, payment systems (Tenpay/Wechat Pay) among many others, Tencent has proven to be technologically diverse and advanced in the industry. Tencent also has an arm in Artificial Intelligence (Tencent YouTu Lab, Tencent AI Lab) to serve the needs of its diversified businesses. | From a instant messaging service provider (QQ) to the multi-dimensional technology provider it is today, Tencent is undoubtedly one of the biggest technology companies in China. It has experienced astounding success in the 20 years since its founding. It would be interesting to understand how and why Tencent became so successful and how it manages to stay at the forefront of its industries, and why Tencent chose Shenzhen as its headquarters and base in China. |
