Why TSM Hong Kong?

• What motivates you to join TSM?

I love to travel, as I think it provides me with an avenue to broaden my horizon and be able to think about things from different perspectives. It also allows me to be able to learn about the different cultures while keeping an open mind and be more conscious of what is happening around the world. This would be a great opportunity for me to learn more about the culture of start-up companies and how they operate to remain competitive and sustainable. I would be able to gain a first-hand experience of working with a start-up company in a different working environment. This TSM would also give me the ability to push myself beyond my boundaries and get to know others.

• Why pick Hong Kong?

Hong Kong is a country which I enjoy visiting, and I would like to take this opportunity to get to understand it even more by being able to work with a company in Hong Kong. I am also able to understand Cantonese, and language would not be an issue in this case. Being in the SMT major, this would be a chance for me to explore Hong Kong’s smart city initiatives as well.

• What types of business interest you?

IoT, Information Technology, App Development, Retail

• What plan do you have in starting a business?

For now, I do not have any plans but in the future, when I have more experience and gain more knowledge in the IT sector, I would consider.

Past Experiences

During the summer, I interned in a start-up company and found the experience to be very eye-opening as I was able to work directly under the co-founders of the company. I learnt a lot about start-up companies and this was what got me interested in such companies.

What keeps you ticking?

I believe that you should push yourself because nobody is going do it for you. In general, I just love to explore the world and have new experiences. I think that when an opportunity is presented at hand, we should seize it. Also, every opportunity is a good experience to have whether it be good or bad, in order to improve myself and discover more about myself.
