Why TSM Silicon Valley?

What motivates you to join TSM?

Where the experts are, I go

Interacting and being exposed to companies filled with experts who can guide people like me. I do not even know where to begin. How does someone start from ground 0 and achieve the level of success as WeChat

Why pick Silicon Valley?

Silicon Valley is the HQ of all the tech giants!

Being able to go there is like having all the popular people concentrated in one area. I would also get to be exposed to a wide variety of startups in the technology field

Ideal role in the trip:

Hotel Info/Tech Support/Insurance/Room

Having been the co-leader of the first installment of my OCSP project, Bike4Change, I have experience in handling the overseas details on anything that would help get my team of 18 to settle in comfortably in a foreign country.

Starting a business

What types of business interest you?

Web and Mobile App Development, eCommerce
Other interests are: Cloud, Fintech/Cryptocurrency, Artificial Intelligence (GOOGLE and IBM are amazing!)

What plan do you have in starting a business?

I plan to build a Super App, a single point for all social interaction and services on the mobile. With an average of 5-6 apps being used on a daily basis, I hope that this app would be the only App Singaporeans would want and need to use till the point that they hardly ever leave the app.

Past Experiences (optional)

Product Analyst during Summer internship in 2017
Event-tech platform Hapz

Under the guidance of our CTO, I have learnt how Hapz leverages machine learning to generate real time insights about our customers’ choices and purchase behaviour. The data driven approach helps the company deliver the most relevant content to the customers. It also generates valuable insights for event organisers that can be used to plan and budget for future events and have more partnerships with merchants and event organisers across verticals and through the region.
It was during my internship that I realized I am suited for the start up culture. Under the mentorship of my CTO during internship, I learnt that a technopreneur needs to believe in the product they are making. It may start with poor profit margin, but if it is disruptive enough, it changes the way people do things on a daily basis.
