Why TSM Silicon Valley?
What motivates you to join Technopreneurship Study Mission(TSM)?
Since young, I have the aspiration to be a technopreneur. I am fascinated by the possibilities of technology and how we can leverage it to improve people’s lives. Upon hearing the TSM program, I am immediately drawn by it. My passion in entrepreneurship has spurred me to take up various roles in several startups. I learnt that what differentiates a good startup from a great one is its culture and system. For example, the ‘lean startup’ and ‘business model canvas’ are very interesting concepts that many startups adopt within their organization. In my aspiration to be a technopreneur, it would be my privilege to be part of the Technopreneurship Study Mission and learn from some of the best startups in the world.
Why pick Silicon Valley?
Silicon Valley is the birthplace of many disruptive innovations and world-renowned startups. I am excited about the opportunity to learn about the culture and speak with the people from the area. I am also curious about what made Silicon Valley special as the innovation hub of the world. Among the companies located in Silicon Valley, there are two particular companies that stand out and align with my future direction, which are Sky mind and Segment.
Are you willing to undertake an internship?
Yes. If possible, I would like to take up an internship that is related to my interests especially in the areas of e-commerce, data analytics and artificial intelligence. I believe that these technologies will radically change the world. Having an internship with an overseas startup would also be a great opportunity to widen my perspective and establish meaningful relationships with friends and colleagues from difference cultures.

What plan do you have in starting a business
I am passionate about developing innovative products that solve existing problems in Singapore. In my personal life, I constantly look at ways on how I can make a difference in people’s lives. I believe that the school’s curriculum is well equipping me with the relevant skill sets to pursue my goals when I graduate. While I do not have a specific startup idea in mind yet, I could imagine myself to start a social enterprise leveraging technologies such as e-commerce, data analytics and/or artificial intelligence.

What keeps you ticking?
Being a volunteer in the last 6 years, I have witnessed many social issues and hence I hope to come up with products that could make a difference in improving the lives of the people around me.
