Why TSM South Korea?

What motivates you to join TSM?

I want to go for a study mission that is able to give me some insights to how start-ups around the world do the things they are doing. I find that as opposed to big corporations which have huge buffers for failure. Start-ups do not have that luxury and there is really a need for them to innovate to survive in order to keep themselves up and running. Also, being able to motivate their employees to give their all for a company and help it to innovate, this is something that is very difficult to create in an organization. And this mindset / culture / work ethic is something that I want to learn about and appreciate in a deeper level so that I could use it in the future.

Why South Korea?

It has a rich culture, the food is great and it is somewhere that I always wanted to go to.

Starting a business

What types of businesses interest you?

  • IOT
  • F&B
  • Logistics & Supplychain

What plans do you have in starting a business?

I want to create a studio which is able to help businesses to create IT solutions / applications that would benefit them. I believe it is not easy to create that big product, but I want to be an enabler that helps businesses realize that dream. And hopefully from there, I will be able to create something that will make a positive impact. And within this studio, I will also have a kitchen where the different teams will take turns to cook meals for the office. I feel that not only will this promote comaradarie, it will also help my team to bond over food as food is something that everyone needs in order to survive. And what better way to strike a conversation across departments / teams than asking how did you cook something?

Past Experience

Having worked in Tinkerbox Studios during my latest internship during the summer. I learnt that having a good corporate culture that combines both work and play well will make workers want to give their all for the company and not dread going to work. I looked forward to work everyday as I had a great time, a great family and awesome mentors that guided you and motivated you to do your very best for yourself and ultimately the company.

What keeps you ticking?

My goal to leave my mark on this world. Be it through my actions, a possible product or whatever. When we die, the only thing we leave behind are the memories of ourselves. It is our choice to make it the best that it can ever be.
