Why TSM South Korea?

What motivates you to join TSM?

I have always been intrigued to find out how entrepreneurs progress from the eureka moment that they had and from there, develop it into a business idea and plan. I feel that TSM is able to allow me to gain a deeper insights of how start-ups operate and also understand they were able to overcome the challenges they faced. Besides that, I hope to gain inspiration from this trip and learn how to start my own business from there.

Why South Korea?

South Korea is the most innovative economy in the world. It would be exciting to find out more of their blooming start-up scene. I find it interesting to see how South Korea has their own version of Facebook/Instagram (with Kakao) and Google search engine (Naver). Beside technology innovations, South Korea has amazing cosmetics innovations (BB cushions, sheet mask with the use of very uncommon ingredients such as snail, horse oil). Lastly, how can we forget about the yummy korean food!

Starting a business

What types of businesses interest you?

  • Beauty
  • F&B
  • Tourism (Travel)
  • Fashion

What plans do you have in starting a business?

I would like to start a business that revolves around my interests such as beauty and travel in the future. As someone who enjoys travelling, I feel that the market targeting student travellers is underserved. With many opportunity I foresee in these 2 industries, I would like to come up with a plan that will be able to fulfil their needs.

What keeps you ticking?

Everyday is a new adventure. Don’t regret the chances we didn’t take.
