Qualities FuturePlay looks out for in potential start-ups

1. Companies solving substantial problems for people

FuturePlay believes that real ground-breaking technologies should work to solve important and common problems, so that they can be used by more people, effortlessly. And their goal is to find start-ups that can discover these ‘real ground-breaking technologies’ and help translate them into products and services so that they can provide relevant solutions to relevant problems.

2. Companies with innovative and unique technologies

Solving a problem with innovative technology” means to provide solutions that are better than existing solutions by fully utilizing the computing and mechanical power of technology – requiring less efforts from humans. In any form, FuturePlay likes companies that “provide better solutions through technology.” Also, Futureplay also prefers that the technology is pretty unique as, if the breakthrough technology is vulnerable – either easily comprehensible through a thesis/paper, or have many other competitors researching into the same tech, or easily able to duplicate, or is not protected by patents – it will be hard for the startup to grow and build around that technology.

3. Companies that are global

Some start-ups are solving problems that exists in Korea, but not in the U.S while some offer solutions that may work in China, but would never work in Africa. In a world that constantly evolves and changes faster than ever, with Apple in U.S., Samsung in Korea, and Xiaomi in China competing viciously for a chunk of that global market share. FuturePlay believes that being ‘global,’ along with having exceptional technologies and speedy execution, will be a minimum requirement for a start-up to stand a chance in this difficult competition. Therefore, FuturePlay looks for companies that solve problems that exist everywhere in the world with solutions that can work anywhere in the world.
