WHY TSM SOUTH KOREA?
I am someone who believes in learning through experience, and I see that the opportunity to gain knowledge outside of the classroom setting will be extremely valuable to me. I am currently taking the module IT & Business Innovation, where I have learnt about how start-ups have came about and innovation models. Ever since taking that module, I am keen on expanding my knowledge in this field and what better way to do it other than a TSM to South Korea which has a rich start-up landscape!
INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
- What types of internship opportunities interest you?
- Business Analyst - Learning how to come up with effective technological solutions to add in business needs
- Technological start-up - In order to start my own company, I believe learning through an internship in a start-up will be beneficial
- Mobile Application Development - Mobile is the way to go in this era
- Any ideal firms (based in South Korea) that you wish to join?

Even with Whatsapp and other messenging giants out there in the market, Kakao has managed to gain a massive number of users in a short span of time. As it is one of the most successful start-ups in Korea, it will be great to join and learn the ropes from them. |

An opportunity to intern at Samsung will definitely be one I won't miss! I would like to understand how they have managed to keep themselves up in the market despite having strong competitors. |

Coupang is a start-up founded by a Harvard graduate and it has been very successful in the online e-commerce industry. To join and be able to see what goes on behind the scenes will be interesting! |
These are my ideal firms, but if I have an opportunity in other firms I am game for them as well because anywhere I go will eventually give me a great experience and lots of learning opportunity

As of now, I have no existing business but as I am lacking very much in experience and knowledge in this field, I hope this TSM will allow me to gain insights into start-ups and explore opportunities. I do plan on starting my own business in the future but would need the knowledge to do so first!
PAST EXPERIENCES
- While I was in poly, I had an internship at the Defense Science & Technology Agency implementing an application to support the army that could be accessed within the company's intranet
- During summer this year, I was a digital media intern at Starcom Mediavest Group. It was something that I have not done before, and I chose it so I could experience doing something different for a change
- I am currently part of SISS as a PR executive where I have learnt how to communicate with external parties to find sponsorships for SISS's events
