Why TSM South Korea

What Motivates you to join TSM

TSM is an interesting programme where students get exposure to startups and find out more about the risks, challenges and motivations of these entrepreneurs. The technology industry is constantly evolving and I find it challenging and interesting to find out more about how startups adapt to the constant change. Innovations are also highly valued in the industry, thus I would like to find out more about what kind of new innovations entrepreneurs are actually coming up with.

Why pick South Korea

The Korean (Hallyu) Wave hit Singapore since 2000s, and it have grown to all parts of the world. I have been keeping a close eye on the Korean market due to my interest in k-pop and its development in various markets was amazing. This includes introducing Korean food, culture, language and of course not forgetting technology to different parts of the world. I am also curious about how their government push for these developments and how these developments have impacted the Koreans so far.

Starting a business

What types of business interests you

Businesses that is able to provide a variety of services to customers - highly interested in how companies can manage the wide scope of the business. I'm also highly interested in e-commerce as I believe that the opportunities in e-commerce are endless.

What plan do you have in starting a business

My family run a small-medium enterprise (SME) and I have plans to further develop it as age is catching up with my parents, they do not have the drive to bring in changes. Thus I hope to be the change agent in the company and open up the company to new opportunities and markets.

Past Experiences

Describe your past experience

My experience in some SMEs with relatively short history have been a fruitful one as i learn how to develop a company on a whole. There are many room for improvement and I have learnt how to prioritise different areas of development for a company.

Experience in bigger organisations: ITI(OS) Intern - Daimler SEA Pte Ltd
