Why TSM South Korea?

* Why Technopreneurship?
I have always been interested in entrepreneurship. At a later stage of my life, I wish to start up my own business (small firm) though I am not sure what industry it will be in.

As much I dislike to rely on technology, I believe that it is inevitable and essential for an individual to fully embrace and learn how to use technology well to improve their business practices and performance.

*What motivates you to join TSM?

I believe that it will definitely be a good exposure and learning opportunity.

* Why pick South Korea?

I think South Korea is pretty similar to Singapore in the sense that both countries have a lot of rising start ups and many graduates are looking to start up their own business. In addition, with South Korea being so close to Singapore, there will definitely be opportunities for collaboration.

Well, also not forgetting my love for Korean cusines. I am also curious about an article I chanced upon which said that South Korea has the fatest internet in the world!

Internship Opportunities

* What types of internship opportunities interest you?

ANY! I am open to all opportunities.

* Any ideal firms (based in South Korea) that you wish to join?

Samsung.
I own an iPhone and I do prefer Apple's user interface over Samsung's. However, I wish to join Samsung to see the reason why it dominates the Korea market.

SBS/MBC/KBS Broadcasting network.
My passion for videography as well as Korean variety shows are the reasons why I am interested to join these firms. I am especially interested in working for KBS broadcasting network as they emphasise quite a bit on reaching out to international audience.

Kakao talk.
It is surprising to see a private chatting app company purchase a big and public Internet Company. What makes it different from Whatsapp? How did the rise from a small start up to such a success? Thus, I hope to work with Kakao talk to learn more about managing a start-up firm.

Starting a business

* What types of business interest you?

> Film production company
> Restaurant
> Web based companies (hungrygowhere, agoda, airbnb)

* What plan do you have in starting a business? My first business plan that I had was to infuse my love for music and food together: A Music Cafe

Past Experiences

  • Describe your past experience (entrepreneurship, or works in start ups etc)

I have yet to have the opportunity to work in a start up firm. Hopefully, during this summer I will be able to do so.
