Why TSM South Korea?

  • What motivates you to join TSM?

Technology is prominent in this ever-changing world and most functions we do, be it ordering food in Macdonalds or depositing money into a bank, are tightly related to technology. Hence info communication is a highly valued skill and I wish to acquire it.

I believe that TSM will provide me with global exposure on international markets, which would deepen my understanding of how technologies shape businesses around the world. With that, it would definitely allow me to have a broader perspective about businesses and be able to have a more objective point of view when make decisions or recommendations at work in the future.

TSM also provides me an opportunity to network with entrepreneurs, providing me with a better understanding of the difficulties an entrepreneur may possibly face and ways to overcome problems posed towards an entrepreneur. I would then be able to either embark on my start up journey or aid my potential entrepreneur leader throughout the journey.

Why pick South Korea?

I’m very impressed by how South Korea improved vastly from a third world war-stricken country after the Korean war to a first world nation with a high standard of living. I believe this is very much attributed to South Korea’s emphasis in technology and I can see many innovative products coming from South Korea over the years. The most obvious would be the telecommunication industry and the automobile industry. Samsung and Hyundai have left it’s footprint all over the world and Samsung is often used to compare against Apple products. All these doesn’t come easy and I believe there’s much to learn from a small country with limited resources (similar to Singapore, except that South Korea has more resources than Singapore) that is able to develop such technologies that is comparable to US giants like Apple. Hence, I picked South Korea. Not to forget, the Korean cuisines are a great plus and love the Korean culture.
