I have really learnt a lot from this project as I was able to combine what I've learnt from accounting, social science and IS. This diversity of knowledge allowed me to look at the interlocking directorates network very differently. More importantly, I realized the usefulness of network analysis when my suspicions were founded on Mercator Lines when we saw the news article on Google.

This project has really taught me a lot in terms of network analysis concepts and also project management. As business students are not required to have a FYP, I had very little experience in project management. Therefore, this is my virgin experience in initiating a project from scratch, finding the data source, cleaning the data and analyzing them. Now I truly understand why many IS students complain that data cleaning is the hard part! In addition, just like all the modules I take under this Analytics major, Practicum has given me yet another angle for me to look at things. Network analysis can really be found everywhere, interlocking directorates, transport networks, even urban planning! Hence, I am really thankful for a chance to engage in such an experience before I graduate.
