Shafiq is a year 4 Information Systems (SIS) student with a second major in the General Analytics Track. He loves the outdoors, technology and being curious. He has worked in the education and childcare industry for 8 months and hopes to be able to pursue a career in this industry because he is passionate about providing meaningful educational experiences to his students. In the education sector, he is known as "Teacher Shark" by both his colleagues, teachers and students.
Edwin is a year 4 Information Systems (SIS) student with a second major in Advanced Technology Analytics Track. He is an outdoor enthusiast and likes to travel. Edwin is graduating this year and hopes to pursue a career in the data sciences.
As both of us are passionate about helping children and have a edge in the technology sector, we called ourselves Byte Syzed.
Byte: a small unit of memory. This represents our technological advantage as well as the type of company we are working with.
Syzed: possessing a fun-sized and positive outlook on life. This represents our quirkiness and willingness to try, regardless of our capabilities.
Our sponsor, Erumpere, is a private company in the child care and development industry. Erumpere aims to provide children, between 4 to 12 years old with meaningful learning experiences that they otherwise are unable to achieve in a fixed classroom setting. The principal, Mr Han Foo, has been in the early childhood industry for over 15 years and is passionate about teaching young children important values and life skills that would benefit the children as they grow up. The company values quality, creativity and adaptability through its innovative and unique field experience programmes.
