OVERVIEW PROXIMITY CRITERION SCORES AHP SUITABILITY
Gombak Study Area with:
- Roads (Top Left)
- Buildings (Top Right)
- Natural Features (Bottom Left)
- Digital Elevation - Contour Lines (Bottom Right)
ROADS
The service and track roads of Gombak will account for the Accessibility decision factor when selecting a suitable site for building the national Communicable Disease Quarantine Centre (CDQC). The selected site should be close to these roads to ensure the ease of transportation of its construction materials during its construction stage.
From the Roads View of Gombak (Top Left), these roads seem to span across the whole area of Gombak. However, majority of these roads are clustered around the North-East area. This span provides us diverse options in selecting our suitable area for the CDQC.

BUILDINGS
The buildings of Gombak will account for the Health Risk decision factor when selecting a suitable site for building the CDQC. The selected site should be away from the population, namely away from housing areas and housing areas to prevent the spread of illness and disease to the nearby population.
From the Buildings View of Gombak (Top Right), there seems to be a lack of any buildings in the South region of Gombak. This area can be considered for the building of the CDQC.

NATURAL FEATURES
The natural features of Gombak will account for the Natural Conservation decision factor when selecting a suitable site for building the CDQC. These features consist of forested land, parks and waterbodies, which the selected site should be away from these features.
From the Natural Features View of Gombak (Bottom Left), the South-East area of Gombak seems to lack any natural features. Similar to the findings from the Buildings View, we can consider building the CDQC in this region.
However, we must consider avoiding the elongated waterbody spanning across the North-East to South-East Gombak Area, as well as the park occupying the a portion of the bottom-left corner of the Gombak Area.

DIGITAL ELEVATION - CONTOUR LINES
The elevated terrain of Gombak will account for the Economic decision factor when selecting a suitable site for building the CDQC. For the construction of buildings at steep slopes tend to involve plenty of cut-and-fill which will result in relatively higher developmental costs, the selected site should avoid steep slopes.
From the Digital Elevation - Contour Lines View (Bottom Right), the Gombak terrain tends to become relatively greater in its steepness when progressing from the North area to the South-Central area of Gombak. This could explain for the lack of buildings in the South region of Gombak because of the steepness of the slopes evident by the closeness of the contour lines, which could result in higher developmental costs for the construction of any buildings in that area. However, with the low-elevated land areas of Gombak already having features like waterbodies and housing areas which we would want to avoid, we might have to consider the selection of the suitable site being in the South area of Gombak.
