Welcome to comments :)

Hi Xiaoqing,

Nice work and it is clear to show conclusion in table format. However, I also have following considerations.

- Does the horizon graph in question 1 have removed those multiple records already? Or the difference from median may be due to multiple records?

- Would it be more reasonable if using box-plot instead of sum of the reading for finding release pattern of each chemical in question 2?

- Would it make more sense if the triangles in question 3 are related to four factories?

Thanks,

Jean

Hi Xiaoqing,

I would like to congratulate for your good and hard work.

Below are some of my comments you can look into:

  • you have done a brilliant work on the wind fan. What i can suggest is that, it would have been really

great if you could represent the wind fan also with the intensity of the readings they are capturing and color it.

  • Another suggestion is that you can incorporate average reading in your release pattern graph.
  • you can may be include colors in the box plot so as to distinguish between various chemicals and make the point larger so that the points

in the box plot will be clearer.

P.S you have done a good job, keep up the good work!

Thanks & Regards,

Debasish Behera

Hi Xiaoqing,
Great work. The analysis is very detailed.

Here are my suggestions to improve the visual analytics :

Clarity

  1. Could the Horizon Plot be adjusted to reduce the height of the outliers? My understanding of horizon plots is that they should allow us to show fluctuations without taking up too much space
  2. In Question 2-2, 3 months are displayed but the hour scale is much larger for December. This makes comparison difficult between months.

Aesthetics

  1. In question 1 - Findings the chemical reading graph is very small and hard to read. Could it be enlarged or filtered?
  2. In question 2 the Box Plots are too small and not easy to read. Could they be enlarged and the font be increased?

All the best,
