Overview
As is reported by World Health Organization, more than 300 million people of all ages suffer from depression globally and every 40 seconds someone dies by suicide. Happiness has become a popular research topic in social science. A survey produced for the United Nations polled about 3,000 people in each country and asked them to evaluate their life in 11 categories on a scale from 0 to 10. In the World Happiness Report 2017, Singapore scored 6.572, ranked the happiest country in the Asia-Pacific.
How happy are people today? Were people happier in the past? Among economy, family, health, freedom, corruption and generosity, which factors contributing to happiness scores the most? What are the differences across countries?
