3. Updates (Week 6)

3.1. Front-end of main page and dashboard 1st iteration done, front-end of game in progress. The site can be accessed here
3.2. Met with Victoria School last week, they have confirmed our UAT date to be on 10 Mar with an additional session to be planned in week 12/13. They were generally impressed with what we have as it aligns with their teaching objectives with regards to the concepts we are demonstrating through our game. They have suggested implementing a dashboard for teachers to track the way students play the game to see whether they understood the concepts taught in class. We are figuring out how to implement this suggestion.
3.3. Met with National JC on Tuesday, they want to see our MVP and try the game out for themselves before deciding whether to work with us. They also want a lesson flow with clear learning objectives for our UAT. We aim to give them these deliverables next week.
3.4. Taking feedback from NJC who, in contrast with VS, wanted the game to be more nuanced in terms of demonstrating urban planning concepts through the game, we have decided to make changes to game mechanics to reflect the effect of different amenities being of different importance to different demographics.
3.5. In light of the nCov situation and the increasing likelihood of schools having to move to e-learning, we are developing contingency plans on conducting UAT during students’ home-based learning. The plan includes creating feedback surveys for students to reflect on the learning points of the game, and pain points they had while using the platform. We are trying to see how the initial plan to have students physically collaborate when playing the game can be adapted into an online collaboration.
