Marriages in Singapore
We conducted an online survey to find out some general demographics and pain points of Wedding Planning faced by married couples and couples going to get married. The 37 participants of the survey were mostly relatives and the survey forms were sent out personally to them.
Even with a small sample, our findings led us to conclude that most couples face difficulties with time and organization and that most of them would be willing to try out and use a wedding planning application. In addition, only 4 out of 12 couples planning to get married and 2 out of 25 married couples engaged a wedding planner. Most of them planned weddings on their own (bride and groom).
We also conducted a face-to-face survey at a Wedding Fair held at VivoCity with 15 participants. The aim of this survey was to probe participants further to find out more insights from them. We even managed to talk to a helper who coordinated with all the wedding vendors to find out how the vendors were selected. Based on the results and findings from this survey, we went on to discuss the scope of Marry.SG with our client.
