ING Bank Singapore branch’s Procurement department (Asia Pacific Region) requires a procurement system to be installed on their intranet. The procurement system will be able to track new entries and edits to the data, as well as creators of new data and edits. The system must also be able to perform functions existing in excel and manipulation of the forms that are currently done manually. The system will also be able to generate reports in excel. Procurement is necessary in a project cycle, and the Procurement functions are now causing bottlenecks of many projects, with delays for up to a month. |

Excelente aims to be a leading interactive networking platform during events. In the current marketplace, applications allow information flow between event attendees and its organisers, but there is a lack of interaction within participants themselves. Via a mobile application and a complete set of event management functionalities, Mr Shakey will uncover a three-way interaction platform, focusing not just between organisers and participants, but also on the interaction within the participants. The main differentiating factor would be the application’s ability to manage events and contacts, which will advance communities of networks. |

JalanJalan stems from the belief that history can be found everywhere. In recent years, there have been many ground-up initiatives to preserve Singapore’s heritage, often taking the form of blogs and learning trails. JalanJalan seeks to consolidate these sources of information into a comprehensive platform whereby Singaporeans can learn about our heritage on-the-go., through a website and mobile app. The mobile app will have a geo-cashing feature which will send pop-ups to users when they get close to a historical geocache. |

Green Transformation Lab SMU & DHL - Integrated Supply Chain and Carbon Modelling. The proposed project, Integrated Supply Chain and Carbon Modeling tool, is a platform that would hopefully address the existing gap. The core part of the tool is a supply chain modeling engine that allows users to provide data on suppliers, manufacturing plants, distribution centres, customers demand, transportation lanes and modes. More distinctively, the data associated with carbon footprint will also be captured across different key points in the supply chain. Users can then create multiple alternative scenarios by varying the network design to see the cost, service and carbon performance over a defined period, and thus able to make informed decisions balancing business and sustainability concerns.
The objective of this IS480 project is therefore to develop the core engine and the associated visual analytic interface for the above tool, based on a given set of business requirements. |

For this project, we will be looking at how to improve SingPath.com by adding more features. These features include creating a customized environment for polytechnic users, map-viewer displaying certain statistical figures of players of a particular school, a customized coaching session where user are able to select the coaches (each representative of a different level of difficulty). Users are also able to create competitions and request tournaments to be organized in their respective location (schools). In order to improve collaboration with users, there will be opportunities for them to contribute in problem-creation for the content used. All of data that was derived through all these activities will be used to make analytical predictions where a particular player may be from and which school and level of competency he is likely to be. Singpath owners will like to make user of this data to consider options for future interactions.

Our project aims to build a responsive web application that serve as a collaborative web portal for SMU labs and the industrial partner. Currently, collaboration between the industrial partners and the labs are performed and corresponded manually. Certain established workflows and processes can be automated electronically, saving more time and resources for more productive work. There is no shared platform or portal for industrial partners or the labs to share ideas or record their feedback formally with regards to individual projects. Ideas and feedbacks are mainly traversed through emails. While emails are useful as a primary communication tool, it does not provide value in storing long term information or information that requires easy accessibility to all parties. This portal will facilitate in exploring new ideas, tracking of project status and development, sharing and uploading of ideas and information to aid and reduces manual work between the various labs (eg. iLab, tLab, Urban Lab) and the industrial partners. Our group of intended users is mainly the SMU staff, faculty members and Standard Chartered Bank, who sponsored this idea. |

This project aims to revolutionize the organization of gatherings and meetings, through the introduction of smart scheduling. Smart scheduling integrates the schedules of different individuals together, and tracks each individual’s availability, providing users with the most appropriate meet-up date, all through an ultimate user experience.
The application is complimented with a chat feature, allowing circles of friends to communicate with one another in real-time. This creates a platform for friends to plan and discuss their gatherings within the ease of a single application. Looking for a place to go? We present ‘Vendor Stream’, a directory of the latest deals and happenings in town, bundled with the geolocation of each event. Business partners would be able to gain analytical insights on the responses, demographics and attitudes of event participants. |

Students will be able to make reservations, view locations of the lockers they are booking, edit their reservation, cancel their reservation and even exchange lockers with their peers. Also, SMU administrators will be able to view dashboards with information such as, number of bookings made each year, where the most popular spots are, etc. Through this system, admin will also have more control over this process as they are able to track the locker that each student own, as well as what are the problems with each locker. Vendor will be able to make use of this system to alter any information regarding the lockers. Most importantly, students will be able to submit any complaints regarding faulty lockers through this portal.

Automated Scheduling System The Learning Connections Pte Ltd (TLC) is a Singapore-based learning organization that provides pre-school learning centers around Singapore with multi-arts-based curriculum through their team of trainers. The project team aims to develop an integrated web application to allow the management of TLC to automate their previously manual business processes, mainly enrolment, scheduling and leave management. The unique aspect of this software project these three business processes are interdependent onto one another, thus, a constraint placed in both enrolment and leave management systems ultimately affects the scheduling system. These exclusive business logic is unique to TLC, and this is something ordinary, existing off-the-shelf systems cannot provide.
The final deliverable of the project will provide TLC with substantial cost and time-savings, which are essential and valuable to small and medium businesses. In addition to the core functionalities of the project, the project team will develop a business analytics module which will provide aggregated information about the company's financial health, mainly profitability from each client and employee productivity. |

Flauntpage - Resume System
Telling a story that makes you standout is often the first step to landing your dream job. Flauntpage LLP is a startup formed to help every individual tell their stories and getting heard by the right people. The project strives to do just that by creating a Flauntpage resume system – a web-based platform targeted for tertiary students. It helps students stand out from the conventional resumes by creating their own infographic resume, manage the different resumes that they may have, customize their cover pages and also ‘share’ their work of art via social media. KMP Far East Pte Ltd - Automate workflow system. The end product that the company is targeting is a flexible, modular ERP system that can aid with the intricacies of our workflow. The system should be able to monitor and manage suppliers and their often erratic delivery schedules. It should build into itself processes that will improve the management of suppliers and their deliveries. Currently, there is a big lack in terms of a proper Quality Control process, and we hope that by integrating this process into the ERP system, we will be able to better monitor and track QC issues, thus also giving us a better platform with which to further improve our relationships with all stakeholders involved.

The SMU Shop - TSS mobile app. The profusion of personal mobile devices has changed consumers’ expectations about access to information. Since TSS’ customers (mainly students) are always mobile, the shop is looking at bringing its consumers more convenience and another level of engagement through the help of a mobile application, which is the preferred choice over a mobile website. The app will act as a hotspot of information that consumers can take everywhere they go, whether it’s to shop, look at unique content and new products, or share the brand with friends and family while on the run. In addition, as the ambassador for the institution, TSS aims to have a mobile app that will also serve as a digital gateway to people who are interested to find out more about SMU, an institution at the forefront of technology. |
