Why TSM South Korea?

What motivates you to join TSM?

Yes, i may be doing a second major in operation management.
BUT i am also very interested in Entrepreneurship/Technopreneurship. =)

Hmmm..

Ever since i was young, i have always thought about having my own business and how it would operate.
Therefore, i wanted to take up operation management to have a deep understanding about how a company operate and how to make operation works in my company.
With that in mind, i decided to take up operation management instead of entrepreneurship majors.

However, this is also THE reason why i am so interested in TSM(SOUTH KOREA). =)
Having to sacrifice taking entrepreneurship as a major, i believe that this TSM would allow all of us, including me, to have exposure to the technoprenuership environment. With so much uncertainties and constant changes in IT industry, an entreprenuer aiming to start his/her IT company needs to have frequent exposures to the ever changing markets. In IT, the market is the whole world.
Currently working in a SME, i realized the importance of getting exposure to the operations of each company and listening to company owners.

The best way to learn to not through in-class modules but it is through real world interactions.
No one can teach the lessons that only the company owners had overcame and went through.

Why pick South Korea?

Like everyone, who doesn't want to travel to South Korea?!! Hahahaha
But more than that, South Korea is a heaven for IT and gaming.
Throughout the years, many famous IT software and games were invented in South Korea.
Yes, i am interested in the food and the wonderful travel experiences in South Korea.
Yes, i am also very interested in finding out how is the IT culture and also hear start up experiences from tech owners.

Nothing is fresher than real sharing from real people working in real IT businesses.

Well just like no one can learn debugging by reading about debugging.
We need to try debugging ourselves to know what is debugging.

So.... Let's Debug South Korea!!! =)

Currently, i have a mentor for my startup from my workplace. After software engineering, i will be taking on some projects and also develop application for my current employee. During my SMU school life, i aim to get expose to different industries since i am looking towards solving business issues with IT. Having obtained SME fundings (PIC, ICV) for my current employee, i am looking towards sourcing for funding for my personal IT projects. The current crossroad that i am facing will be to open a startup straight away during graduation days, after graduation or after trying a few IT jobs. Hence, i believe this TSM will help me have a clearer idea.

Past Experiences

Describe your past experience (entrepreneurship, or works in start ups etc)

Currently, i'm working part-time as an IT & Admin Executive in a SME , Aaron Wills & Co. Private Limited. When i first joined the company, it just shifted from sole proprietorship to a private limited company. Hence, i was tasked to do extensive research on the government funding, employment through online job posting websites and also managing of all technology related issues. The director of the company is also currently my mentor regarding my start-up plans and i would often observed her going through the ups and down of starting a SME. This provided me experiences and insights on the process of entrepreneurship.
