Why Virtual TSM

What motivates you to join TSM?

I have always heard amazing stories about TSM from my seniors and peers who have had incredible experiences in San Francisco and Korea. Unfortunately, I have missed out on the chance to join in the past. My previous work and internship experiences in various start-ups have given me a good understanding of the start-up landscape, the culture, and the challenges that come with it. I have had the privilege of meeting directors who are daring, ambitious, and perseverant, and they have inspired me to think about the possibility of starting my own company. It will be amazing to be able to turn my unique ideas into something tangible that can benefit and bring joy to people.

I believe that TSM will be the perfect first step for me to venture into the world of entrepreneurship. It is not only an opportunity to learn from like-minded peers, but also a chance for me to network with industry partners and dive deeper into the wonders of start-ups. I am excited about the potential of joining TSM and taking my entrepreneurial spirit to the next level.

Starting a business

What types of business interest you?

I am incredibly passionate about the virtual and augmented reality industries, as I see immense potential for their application in various industrial fields. Japan, with its renowned VTubers and gaming culture that often incorporate both VR and AR, presents a unique opportunity for me to delve into these cutting-edge technologies and gain invaluable insights.

I am truly captivated by how technology can revolutionize industries and improve people's lives. As a firm believer in putting people at the forefront of all operations, I am drawn to businesses that prioritize the well-being and convenience of their users. I am convinced that technology should be harnessed for the greater good and to benefit society.

What plans do you have in starting a business?

I am actively taking the initiative to identify the pain points within the SMU SCIS community and find innovative solutions to enrich their school lives. I believe that this can be achieved through the creation of open-source projects and business products and services that are freely available to students. On top of that, I dream of harnessing the power of technology, specifically augmented reality, to revolutionize the construction industry.

Having worked as a QS trainee at a construction site, I have firsthand experience of the challenges faced by engineers in their day-to-day tasks. I can vividly envision how augmented reality can transform the way engineers perform calculations, monitor sites, and conduct construction and risk analysis. It is truly inspiring to think about the immense potential of technologies like Project Aria by Meta and Apple glasses by Apple.

I am hopeful that my participation in TMC will allow me to gain valuable insights into relevant industries. With an open mind, I am eager to explore intriguing ideas that could potentially sprout into an amazing business venture.
